"33 A.D." -- Drama  Ministry

Up Children's Worship Drama Ministry

Valerie and Ricky Lester work diligently in providing us with a drama ministry that sustains our worship environment. They have led presentations to enhance the sermon, the song service, our worship around the Lord's table, or at special church celebrations, such as Christmas and Easter. They have also performed at community events, such as the all-church Easter program.

We are honored to have Ricky and Val with us.

(Left) A scene from an Easter morning drama presentation. The woman, the soldier, and the carpenter all told how the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ had impact on their lives. Powerful, indeed!
[Right] Christmas 2005 brought several little elves and other assorted creatures (like reindeer) around the work table to help Santa complete this year's assignments. These elves helped Rudolph teach us all that Christmas is about more than toys and presents! Even Pokey, our precocious puppet, showed up to help bring joy to the world!

To the left, members of the adult drama group gathered around the Lord's Table one Sunday morning, but as the Scriptures say, "When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat" (1 Corinthians 11:20, NIV). Instead of submitting to the Lord and realizing the true meaning of the Communion ceremony, they tried to beg, bargain, and buy their right to sit at the table -- until "Jesus" showed them what the true meaning of the Communion celebration is all about. Then our morning worship assembly centered around the Lord's Table.
Such good and meaningful drama presentations don't come without a lot of practice and sacrifice on the part of the team members. The photo to the right shows a small  group practicing their lines one Sunday night after the assembly.
